The Luxembourg Research Clinic (LRC) provides clinicians and researchers with a collaborative environment designed to support the development, implementation, and acceleration of high-quality clinical and translational research projects in Luxembourg.
Whether you are initiating a new study, developing a clinical trial, or seeking support for an ongoing research programme, the LRC aims to provide the infrastructure, expertise, and network needed to help transform innovative ideas into impactful research initiatives. To do so, the LRC draws on the existing expertise and infrastructures of its partners.

The LRC connects hospitals, research institutions and specialised teams to support studies from development to clinical implementation.

Research infrastructure and support
The LRC is developing a comprehensive clinical research infrastructure designed to facilitate and streamline research activities across participating institutions. This infrastructure builds on LIH’s Translational Medicine Operations Hub (TMOH), which coordinates clinical research operations from project planning through execution and closure via its units for clinical project management, clinical investigation, and biobanking.
Support for research projects includes:
- Access to clinical research facilities and study coordination support
- Collaboration with dedicated research nurses and clinical research staff
- Guidance for patient recruitment and participant engagement
- Support for clinical trial activation and implementation
- Access to data management and research data workflows
- Integration of research activities within hospital environments

Data-driven and patient-centred research
A central objective of the Luxembourg Research Clinic (LRC) is the development of a secure and interoperable clinical research data workflow that enables high-quality, data-driven research while ensuring patient privacy and compliance with data protection regulations. This data workflow is supported by LIH’s Department of Medical Informatics, and LCSB’s Clinical and Translational Informatics, which provides secure and interoperable health data infrastructure, high-performance computing, and expertise in biomedical informatics, statistics, and AI-driven analysis.
Through collaboration between hospitals and research institutions, the LRC seeks to facilitate:
- Secure and pseudonymised data integration
- Interoperable clinical research data systems
- Precision medicine approachesIntegration of patient-reported outcomes and digital health technologies
- Advanced analytics and future AI-driven research opportunities
