A robust and secure clinical data workflow is one of the foundational pillars of the Luxembourg Research Clinic. By connecting patient care data with dedicated research environments across participating institutions, the LRC aims to enable high-quality clinical research while supporting personalised medicine approaches and improved healthcare outcomes.
Currently, clinical data systems across healthcare institutions are often fragmented and difficult to integrate. The Luxembourg Research Clinic (LRC) seeks to address these challenges by developing interoperable and standardised research data workflows across Luxembourg’s major hospitals and research partners.
The clinical research data platform supports:
- Secure and pseudonymised data integration
- Integration of clinical data, research data, and patient-reported outcomes
- Use of HL7/FHIR interfaces and federated systems
- Advanced analytics and precision medicine approaches
- Integration of wearable technologies, mobile applications, and omics data
The infrastructure is designed to be compliant with GDPR and data governance requirements while enabling authorised researchers to securely access and analyse research data.
The LRC also aims to incorporate future-oriented technologies including artificial intelligence, genomic medicine, and advanced clinical trial management systems to further strengthen Luxembourg’s position in innovative clinical research.
By creating a modern and scalable clinical research data ecosystem, the LRC seeks to facilitate personalised treatment approaches, improve research efficiency, and increase Luxembourg’s attractiveness for international clinical research collaborations.
