Hôpitaux Robert Schuman (HRS)

The HRS has roughly 2,400 employees and more than 320 physicians across its hospital sites. In 2024, the group recorded more than 200,000 inpatient days, over 34,000 surgical procedures and more than 189,000 medical imaging examinations. Its services span a wide range of specialties, with dedicated expertise in areas including oncology, surgery, cardiology, intensive care, paediatrics, psychiatry, rehabilitation and diagnostic medicine.

Research and innovation are an important part of the mission of the HRS. The hospital group supports clinical research projects in areas including rheumatology and immunology, vascular surgery and oncology, working in cooperation with academic and research partners such as the Luxembourg Institute of Health. Its Innovation Centre also promotes the development and adoption of new medical technologies, with digital transformation and artificial intelligence among its areas of focus.

Within the Luxembourg Research Clinic, the HRS contributes its clinical expertise, specialist services and access to patients participating in research. By working alongside Luxembourg’s other hospitals and research institutions, the HRS helps strengthen clinical research capacity, support innovation in healthcare and build a more coordinated national ecosystem for clinical and translational research.
