GOODYN-HC

Control group for research on CD8 T cell-mediated diseases

The GOODSYN-HC study aims to recruit healthy volunteers to provide samples that can be used as a comparison group in research on immune-mediated diseases. These samples will help researchers better understand how the immune system differs between healthy individuals and people affected by conditions such as Good’s syndrome. The study focuses in particular on CD8+ T cells, a type of immune cell involved in the body’s defence mechanisms which has been increasingly associated with many diseases. Researchers will analyse immune cells, inflammatory markers, and antibody profiles to identify differences that may help explain how these diseases develop and affect the immune system. By taking part, healthy volunteers will contribute to research that may improve scientific understanding of immune dysfunction and support future advances in diagnosis and treatment.

What will participants do?

01.

Sign an informed consent form

This must be completed before any study procedures begin.

02.

Provide an initial blood sample

This will be used to determine whether you meet the study’s eligibility criteria, including testing for previous exposure to cytomegalovirus (CMV).

03.

Attend an additional study visit (if selected)

During this visit, you will provide a second blood sample.
